The Alabama State Board of Education adopts the Velázquez Spanish and English dictionaries as reference aid for its language classes.

Velázquez Press announces that the Alabama State Board of Education recently adopted the Velázquez Spanish English dictionaries during the recent textbooks adoption cycle. Textbooks for the subject areas of arts education and languages other than English—foreign languages were adopted by the Alabama State Board of Education at its meeting on November 9, 2006. State contracts are awarded for a six-year period beginning June 1, 2007, and ending May 31, 2013.

The Velázquez Press titles adopted are as follow: The Velázquez World Wide Spanish English Dictionary ( for classes 6 to 9), the Velázquez Spanish and English Dictionary Pocket Edition 2006 (for classes 6 – 12), the Velázquez Spanish and English Dictionary 2005 ( for classes 9-12) and, the Velázquez Large Print Spanish and English Dictionary (for Special Education classes).
