WBusiness Books, the business imprint for New Win Publishing, has released
Thriving Latina Entrepreneurs in America, an inspirational look at eight successful women entrepreneurs and what it took for them to succeed. Written by Maria de Lourdes Sobrino, founder and CEO of Lulu’s Dessert Corp, Ms. Sobrino not only shares her own story, but how other Latina women persevered to build their own corporations.
Thriving Latina Entrepreneurs in America answers a question the author frequently encounters, “How did you take the determination to leave your family and your country to start a business in a foreign land?” This book is an inspiration and guide for everyone, especially for women of various ethnic backgrounds in different industry segments, who are entrepreneurs or plan to have a business one day.
Maria de Lourdes Sobrino is founder and CEO of Lulu’s Dessert Corporation based in Anaheim, California. In 1982 Sobrino established her niche in the ready-to-eat gelatin dessert industry. From the initial production of 300 cups of gelatin a day, Lulu’s Dessert has overcome many challenges and obstacles to become a leading player in the industry. Ms. Sobrino is a coveted speaker at industry, academic and women’s conferences across the U.S. and Mexico, sharing her successful story as a female entrepreneur.
The author shares her story of more than 30 years as a Latina entrepreneur. She tells the stories of other successful Latinas who share their experiences in finding a particular niche industry, establishing their businesses, and contributing to the economy and development of the United States. This book encourages the reader to succeed in business and make a difference.
“Maria Sobrino is the quintessential woman entrepreneur who strives for excellence in everything that she does,” said Helen Han, CEO, National Association of Women Business Owners - Los Angeles. “Through the compelling stories of her success and other Latinas across the United States, she shares the inspiration and vision that fuels the entrepreneurial spirit in all of us.”
