Author Lee B. Salz Compares Working Out and Successful Sales In His Just Released Book Soar Despite Your Dodo Sales Manager . . .

2007-06-28

In 1987, Lee B. Salz graduated from high school weighing 110 lbs. at just under five foot ten inches tall. He was the proverbial 110 pound weakling. He took a summer job working in a health club weight room and fell in love with the world of fitness. While attending university, working out became a way of life and he competed in bodybuilding placing second in the lightweight class. He even tried out to be a contestant on American Gladiators.

During university and after, Lee got involved on the business side of fitness as a personal trainer and club operator. Just out of college, he became the executive director of a chain of health clubs in Syracuse, New York. He ultimately left the fitness business, but has never lost his passion for working out. While still committed to fitness, Lee has had an incredible business career building sales organizations in various service and technology industries.

In his newly released book, Soar Despite Your Dodo Sales Manager, Lee shares his experiences in working with his salespeople and provides a roadmap to help other salespeople grab control of their career and soar! He also contrasts exercising principles like workout planning and muscle memory with successful selling. The title of the book is derived from the fact that most sales managers are not equipped to develop salespeople. These managers were great salespeople promoted into management without training on how to build sales organizations. While sympathetic for sales managers, the book is geared towards salespeople working without structure, guidance, and support. It guides salespeople through the process of creating their own Sales Architecture® which is the framework that ensures success. While Dodo seems to ridicule managers, it is simply a metaphor for the bird that became extinct due to its inability to adapt to its environment. This book helps to ensure sales people don’t go the way of the dodo. The 194 page hardcover book is available at a retail price of $19.95. ISBN 9780832950094. Visit www.salesdodo.com.

Today, Lee Salz resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He is still passionate about the world of fitness and trains six days a week at 4am. In recent years, he has competed multiple times in powerlifting (bench press) and plans to compete again in both bodybuilding and powerlifting in the near future.
